Art & Expressive Therapy
Art therapy and Expressive therapy are forms of psychotherapy that utilise creative expression as a means of communication and self-discovery. In art therapy, clients use various art materials and techniques to explore emotions, improve self-esteem, manage stress, and enhance personal well-being.
Expressive therapy includes many creative modalities beyond visual arts, such as music, dance, drama, and writing, to encourage & support individuals to express themselves and explore emotions, challenges, issues and concerns.
Art and Expressive therapy supports our mental and emotional health and wellbeing and can be beneficial for processing trauma, anxiety, depression as it can feel less confronting to work through things without the pressure to talk.

Sand Play & Symbol-work
Sand Play Therapy is a form of expressive therapy. Clients use a tray filled with sand and choose symbols/miniature figures to create scenes or representations of their inner world, thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Clients arrange the figures in the sand to reflect their subconscious thoughts and feelings, allowing them to explore and process issues in a non-verbal and symbolic way.
Sand play encourages a safe and supportive place to gain insight, explore feelings and emotions, resolve conflicts, and promote emotional healing.
Sand Play Therapy can be particularly effective for individuals who may find it difficult or challenging to express themselves verbally or who find it easier to communicate symbolically.

Art & Expressive Therapies are for everyone.
No previous experience or art skills are necessary.

Eco /Nature Therapy/Walk & Talk Therapy
Eco Therapy, also known as nature therapy or green therapy, is a therapeutic approach that emphasises the healing power of nature. It involves incorporating outdoor activities and experiences into therapy sessions to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Eco/Nature Therapy acknowledges the interconnectedness between humans and the natural world, recognising the restorative and calming effects that spending time in nature can have on individuals.
Eco/Nature therapy may include walking, sitting quietly, engaging in mindfulness and/or art based activities in natural settings.
I offer this as an alternative to a therapy room which may not work for some of us. We have many beautiful green spaces that we can access here on the Sunshine Coast.
My goal is to create a safe & comfortable environment which allows space for therapeutic conversations, encouraging self-awareness & a connection to nature. Being in nature can reduce stress, improve our mood, calm our nervous system, supporting emotional self-regulation. Connecting with our natural environment promotes holistic health and wellness.

Somatic/Body Based Therapy
Trauma informed somatic /body-based therapy aims to promote healing and integration by addressing the interconnectedness of the mind and the body, fostering greater self-awareness, and empowering us to develop a more balanced and embodied way of being.
Techniques used in somatic body-based therapy may include mindfulness practices, breathwork, body scanning, movement exercises, and touch-based interventions. By becoming more aware of bodily sensations and learning to integrate and regulate them, we can gain insight into our emotional patterns and develop healthier ways of coping with and/or healthy ways of releasing stress, trauma, and other challenges that we may experience.

Yoga - Hatha, Restorative, Children & Pregnancy

Yoga is a holistic practice that originated in ancient India and encompasses physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and philosophical teachings. Through the practice of yoga, individuals can increase flexibility, strength, and balance in the body, while also promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and mental clarity.
Yoga encourages us to become more aware and pay attention to our breath and bodily sensations, fostering a deeper sense of self-awareness and inner peace. Yoga is a way of life - integrating mind, body, spirit & soul.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness encourages us to intentionally pay attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and non-judgment. Mindfulness practices may include meditation, mindful breathing, body scans, and everyday activities done with full awareness.
practicing mindfulness, we can develop greater resilience to stress, improve concentration and focus, and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and others.
Yoga and mindfulness offer a powerful approach to holistic well-being Together, they create a deeper connection to ourselves, balance, inner peace. and general improved health, mental health and wellbeing

Family Constellation Therapy
Family Constellation is a therapeutic approach that aims to help individuals understand and resolve their personal and relational issues by exploring our family systems and dynamics. This method, developed by Bert Hellinger in the 1960s, is based on the idea that many issues and problems that we experience originate from unresolved issues within the family system, often passed down through generations.
Family Constellation includes the excluded, allows awareness by bringing unconscious/subconscious to our consciousness , restoring balance and harmony within our family systems. This profound work can be experienced 1:1 or in a group setting.
It intertwines with both Gestalt and Sand-Play theory and integrates mindfulness, breathwork and grounding techniques.
